The Efficient-Pro Medium is an advanced, next-generation monoclonal antibody medium designed to work optimally with CHO cell lines. The medium pairs with two innovative, single-part feeds, formulated specifically for use in key bioproduction cell lines.​

Optimize your product quality with a monoclonal antibody medium and feed system that has been shown to help elevate titers in mAb production processes. ​

The basal medium is a high-performing mAb cell culture solution that can help boost the performance of your CHO cell line. When paired with our two complementary feeds, Efficient-Pro Feed 1 and Efficient-Pro Feed 2, the complete medium and feed system can effectively improve titers in CHO-K1 and CHO-S/DG44 cells, respectively.​

Together, the medium and cell-specific feed can help increase titers. As shown in figures 1 and 2, titer was improved with Efficient-Pro Medium and Feed, and that performance was optimized by feed titration, showing that 1% Feed 1 (or 1.5% Feed 2) provided optimal results.

CHO-K1 GS cells were evaluated in an Amber 15 cell culture bioreactor system. Bioreactor vessels were set up in triplicate. Efficient-Pro Medium and Efficient-Pro Feed 2 performed better than ExpiCHO Stable Production Medium, Dynamis, and competitor medium and feed. Note, all media were supplemented with 2 mg/L insulin.

Streamline your mAb production with the Gibco Advanced Granulation Technology (AGT) media format

All components of the Efficient-Pro system are available in liquid format and our proprietary AGT format, which can help simplify reconstitution and streamline your mAb manufacturing workflow. ​

The AGT medium and feeds are pH and osmolality preadjusted and designed for rapid dissolution, facilitating accelerated media preparation, reducing time and labor costs, and reduced risk of manual errors.​

For faster scale-up, try the Efficient-Pro system in our AGT dry media format. The AGT format offers simple reconstitution and animal origin free (AOF), chemically defined properties that help streamline regulatory processes.​

The Efficient-Pro Medium and Feeds are protein-free. It is recommended to maintain supplementation with growth factors, an anti-clumping agent (Pluronic), peptones, GS supplement, GlutaMAX, or L-Glutamine, if currently used in the control process.​​

Since the Efficient-Pro Feeds are nutrient-rich, a lower feed concentration may be sufficient, and a feed titration can help with process optimization.
