Our Forensic ready product designation indicates products that meet the high standards necessary for rigorous scientific study and reliable results. The Thermo Scientific Forensic ready designation includes combination testing for sterility and elimination of endotoxins (see Sterile designation), as well as testing for the elimination of RNase, DNase, human DNA, and PCR inhibitors (see PCR Ready designation). Products that meet this dual designation support the demands of Forensic science where sensitive Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) methods are used, and where sample material is limited and valuable. |
To receive the Forensic ready designation, products must meet the following criteria:
✓ Minimum Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10-6
✓ Endotoxin (pyrogen) free
✓ Human DNA free
✓ RNase Free
✓ DNase Free
✓ PCR inhibitor free
Additional criteria met:
✓ Made from high quality resins and raw materials
✓ Manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 or 13485 standards
✓ Low wetting for accurate liquid measurements
✓ High chemical resistance for durability in most routine lab work
✓ High thermal resistance for stability under wide range of temperatures
