The MicroAmp TriFlex 3 x 32-well plates are not validated for use with real-time PCR (qPCR) 96-well block instruments.

No, side tabs can be left in contact and placed directly on the block when the full plate is used. The tear tabs will not interfere with the fit inside the block.

No. We recommend just putting the MicroAmp TriFlex 32-well plate directly on the ProFlex 32-well block. Do not use the 32-well block frame.

No. The MicroAmp TriFlex 3 x 32-well plate is designed for standard (0.2 mL) 96-well blocks only.

MiniAmp and MiniAmp Plus Thermal Cyclers

We offer only a 96-well standard (0.2 mL) block that is not interchangeable. The 96-well block for the MiniAmp Plus Thermal Cycler has a block with 3 VeriFlex zones while the MiniAmp Thermal Cycler has an isothermal block.

The compatible plates and plastics are the same as those used with the ProFlex 96-Well PCR System and can be viewed here.

The maximum block ramp rate of the MiniAmp Thermal Cycler is 3 degrees C/sec.

- PCR optimization: each block can be set with a specific temperature, which is ideal for precise control over PCR optimization.
- Run more experiments: the three Peltier blocks can also be used to run up to three different annealing temperatures in the same run.

To add an infinite hold, select the infinity symbol for program.

Like the ProFlex PCR System and SimpliAmp Thermal Cycler, the MiniAmp/MiniAmpPlus Thermal Cycler can be connected wirelessly with an optional High-Power USB W-Fi Module, Cat. No. A26774.

There are 2 key differences:
- The MiniAmp Plus Thermal Cycler has 3 VeriFlex zones while the MiniAmp Thermal Cycler does not.
- The MiniAmp Plus Thermal Cycler has a block ramp rate of 3.5 degrees C/sec while the MiniAmp Thermal Cycler has a block ramp rate of 3.0 degrees C/sec.

SimpliAmp™ Thermal Cycler

The SimpliAmp™ PCR machine can be used with a 4°C hold. Further, our in-house QC testing requires the passing of a “no leak” test make sure that any accumulated water (due to condensation when the block temperature is set to low temperature for a long period of time) will not leak into the instrument causing electronic failure.

The storage capacity for the SimpliAmp™ Thermal Cycler is ~5.9 GB. The run methods and run records stored use most of the memory. It can store 1.2 million run methods.

The two different types of trays are for use with different tubes:

-MicroAmp 96-well Tray/Retainer Set for Veriti Systems (Cat. No. 4381850) - this tray is for use with 0.2 mL single tubes without caps (Cat. Nos. N8010533, N8011533), 0.2 mL 8-tube strip with attached dome caps (Cat. No. A30589), and 0.2 mL tube strips without caps (Cat. No. 4316567)
-MicroAmp 96-well Tray for VeriFlex Blocks (Cat. No. 4379983) - this tray is for use with 0.2 mL single tubes with caps (Cat. Nos. N8010540, N8011540)

We offer only a 96-well standard (0.2 mL) block that is not interchangeable.

ProFlex™ PCR System

The ProFlex™ PCR machine has 4 different blocks that can be changed with the flip of a switch, including the first-of-its-kind 3 x 32-well independent block. This block allows up to 3 experiments to be run simultaneously, completely independently of each other and without interference. A dual 96-well block is available for your high throughput sequencing needs and a dual flat block is available to support OpenArray® plate technology for genotyping analysis on the QuantStudio™ 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System.

The plates and plastics will be specific to the block type. Please refer to the tables here for a list of compatible plastics, based on your block type.

The 96-well and 3 x 32-well system have a max block ramp rate of 6.0°C/sec and the dual 96-well and dual flat blocks have a max block ramp rate of 2.0°C/sec.

The ProFlex™ PCR System can be connected wirelessly with an optional High-Power USB Wi-Fi Module, Cat. No. A26774. Please note that you will need to update to the latest version of firmware in order to use this Wi-Fi module.

We currently offer only a 96-well, 0.2 mL (standard) VeriFlex block that is not interchangeable.

The VeritiPro Thermal Cycler features VeriFlex blocks for enhanced PCR functionality. Six separate Peltier blocks (6 columns each) provide maximal versatility and flexibility and offer two key benefits:

2720 Thermal Cycler

The 2720 Thermal Cycler contains a 96-well standard block, which can be used with 0.2 mL tubes and plates. For more options in block compatibility, you can review our other thermal cyclers here.

The max block ramp rate of the 2720 PCR machine is 2.3°C/sec.

No, the 2720 PCR machine does not have a gradient feature. Our newer thermal cyclers including the ProFlex™ PCR System and Veriti® Thermal Cycler have better-than-gradient VeriFlex™ blocks.

To add an infinite hold, set the time for the hold to ‘99.59’. The screen should then default to the infinity () symbol for your hold.

GeneAmp® PCR System 9700

The GeneAmp® PCR System 9700 offers interchangeable sample blocks in a variety of well formats and materials to accommodate a wide range of applications.

The plates and plastics will be specific to the block type. Please refer to the tables here for a list of compatible plastics, based on your block type.
