Near-infrared analyzers

The Thermo Scientific Antaris family of near-infrared (NIR) analyzers offers completely integrated solutions for the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and chemical and polymer industries. All Antaris Analyzers were developed from the ground up for specific tasks using common platform elements to match how those tasks fit into your process. All models share software, qualification protocols and tools, design and manufacturing standards, and support teams, allowing increased efficiency in deployment and an impressive return on investment.

Proven technology that delivers clear results

For applications such as pharmaceutical, food, agriculture, and chemicals, NIR (near infrared) spectroscopy is a proven technology that delivers clear results.

A spectroscopic method that uses the near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum, NIR is based on overtones and combinations of bond vibrations in molecules. NIR can typically penetrate much further into a sample than FTIR, and unlike Raman, is not affected by fluorescence. Thus, although NIR spectroscopy is not as chemically specific as Raman or FTIR, it can be very useful in probing bulk material with little or no sample preparation.

Save time and resources with faster, more reliable analysis

With excellent wavelength accuracy and precision, high spectral resolution, and dynamic alignment for stability in production environments, our NIR analyzers are designed to provide reliable, repeatable results. FT-NIR provides several clear advantages over dispersive NIR techniques:

  • Fast. All frequencies are measured simultaneously.
  • Simple. Fewer standards and less complex methods are required due to superior resolution, precision, and accuracy of FT-NIR data, making methods more robust and easier to develop.
  • Reliable. The moving mirror is the only continuously moving part, allowing for mechanical simplicity and improved reliability.
  • Accurate and precise. FT-NIR instruments use the HeNe laser as an internal wavelength calibration standard for better accuracy and precision.
  • High resolution. Spectral resolution is determined by the stroke length of the moving mirror, so there is no degradation to optical throughput or system sensitivity.

Obtain the same results between systems with reproducible analyzer design

Thermo Fisher Scientific's line of NIR analyzers provides system-to-system repeatability, performance tested to tight tolerances for unrivaled method transferability, and superior engineering for instrument matching. Every Thermo Scientific Antaris instrument is a high-performance FT-NIR spectrometer. With permanently aligned, pinned-in-place optics and state-of-the-art hardware components, the design excellence and manufacturing precision of Thermo Scientific NIR analyzers allows for reproducible results.

Transfer methods and calibration databases in a single step

Transfer any existing NIR instrument method with Thermo Scientific analyzers, which offer large calibration database transfer in a single step. After choosing a sampling technique, it is simple to transfer the method to any analyzer, regardless of location. Additional Antaris systems are configured with only the specific sampling techniques required for the method you developed, for streamlined deployment into at-line QC operations. Because every module uses the same beam path, each Antaris system has identical alignment and performance results, making method and calibration transfer achievable.
