Researchers can easily identify and quantify unknown materials, understand molecular structures, and study spatial relationships between sample components—while saving time and preserving their samples. Moreover, Thermo Scientific hardware, accessories, and software are designed with usability in mind, making the process of learning and training others highly intuitive.
The Thermo Scientific DXR3 family of Raman instruments provide high spectral resolution, helping researchers to determine subtle differences between similar compounds. Users benefit from sophisticated autofocus and morphological analysis to track their location across uneven surfaces and an intuitive workflow to maximize sample throughput. Users can adapt the configuration within seconds without special tools. In addition, the hardware, accessories, and software are designed with usability in mind—making the process of learning and training others very intuitive.
We offer the Raman imaging, micro-Raman analysis, bulk Raman analysis, and hyphenated Raman analysis instruments to meet all your application needs. All Thermo Scientific spectrometers use state-of-the art spectrograph, detectors, and optical components to produce research-grade data. You can easily interchange key accessories such as frequency (laser) sets and optical fibers—keeping operating costs down with minimum to no need of additional training when switching between instruments.
Thermo Fisher Scientific provides a wide selection of accessories to help you measure samples of various types, ranging from liquids to powders and solids with uneven surfaces. Various third-party standard accessories are compatible with little or no modification, and instruments and accessories can be customized to accommodate special samples. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
With the DXR3 family of Raman instruments, Raman expertise isn't necessary to get results and understand their meaning. These instruments are designed for simple operation to accommodate researchers of all skill levels. Users can preview data collection before acquisition—ensuring they obtain the intended result every time. They can also automate alignment and calibration, making sure they obtain accurate and reliable system performance.
Quick data collection without the need for Raman expertise enables users to complete their experiments more quickly. Minimal sample preparation is required, while an intuitive workflow for demanding applications helps users maximize sample throughput. Intuitive imaging software enables researchers to quickly visualize and understand data and image—enabling them to easily substantiate their grant proposals, while publishing their results faster.
DXR3 family of Raman instruments can be combined with complementary techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and infrared microscopy to extend the range of unknown materials users can identify. These flexible and versatile instruments can be used by various departmental users for a wide range of explorations—from materials engineering to life science and geology to pharmaceuticals--increasing the value of your departmental research dollar.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has both a DXR3 Raman Microscope and DXR3xi Raman Imaging Microscope available in two multi-user laboratories serving the entire university population. Laboratory users are from across university departments including pharmacy, geology, materials science, life sciences, and chemistry.
