Antibody-Production-Art

Antibody production refers to the steps leading up to antibody generation and involves preparation of antigen samples and their safe injection into laboratory or farm animals to evoke high expression levels of antigen-specific antibodies in the serum, which can then be recovered from the animal.

Successful antibody production depends upon careful planning and implementation with respect to several important steps and considerations:

  • Synthesizing or purifying the target antigen (e.g., peptide or hapten)
  • Choosing an appropriate immunogenic carrier protein
  • Conjugating the antigen and carrier protein to create the immunogen
  • Immunizing animals using appropriate schedules and adjuvant formulae
  • Screening serum (or hybridomas) for antibody titer and isotype

Featured antibody production categories

KLH and other carrier proteins can be used to conjugate peptides and other haptens through sulfhydryl, amine, or carboxyl groups to elicit the production of specific antibodies against almost any molecule. We also offer adjuvants for effective immunization.

Reagent kits for the rapid and accurate determination of mouse monoclonal antibody isotype (immunoglobulin class and subclass) and species-specific antibody concentration for screening hybridomas or ascites antibody production, and titering.

Optimized reagents and kits based on immobilized papain, pepsin, and ficin proteases to selectively cleave IgG and IgM immunoglobulin molecules into Fab, Fab', F(ab')2, and Fc antibody fragments for use in immunodetection and immunoassays.
