Latex beads can be easily coupled to proteins such as antibodies or streptavidin via passive absorption or covalent linkage. All of the high activity beads, plus the Aldehyde-Amine, Aldehyde-Sulfate, and Chloromethyl super-active beads as suitable for coupling via passive absorption. Carboxylate modified latex (CML) and Alipathic Amine latex beads may be covalently coupled to proteins via the use of a water soluble carbodiimide.
