Multiplex qPCR is a simple, efficient, and cost effective solution for overcoming the challenges of limited samples and costly analysis. Successful multiplex qPCR enables the amplification of more than one target in a single reaction using different reporters with distinct fluorescent spectra and making it possible for you to use less of your precious samples in each experiment.

We are proud to offer a complete multiplex qPCR solution that enables you to detect up to six targets for applications such as microbal pathogen detection and gene expression. Our solution includes dyes optimized to work together with minimal spectral overlap, room-temperature-stable qPCR mixes designed for multiplexing, and endogenous control assays. These reagents, combined with our custom services and qPCR instruments and software, help decrease the amount of time required to design and optimize your multiplex qPCR experiments.

Multiplex qPCR allows you to get more information out of a single reaction. This is particularly important when your sample input is limited or when you need to minimize sample-analysis costs.
Multiplexing provides a way to reduce reaction costs by as much as 40%. The relative costs for the multiplex reaction are much closer to those for a singleplex reaction and offer substantial savings when compared to the costs of performing six singleplex reactions independently.
The TaqMan Multiplex solution consists of multiple components:
TaqMan QSY and QSY2 probes are available for optimal high-level multiplexing with best performance in up to 6-plex reactions.
Applied Biosystems TaqMan and TaqPath master mixes are optimized for multiplexing in a variety of qPCR applications and formulated to maximize target amplification within multiplex reactions. To enable multiplex assay flexibility, you can choose between formulations with various passive reference dyes options; including ROX, Mustang Purple, and formulations with no passive reference.
Applied Biosystems qPCR master mixes provide application-specific formulations for multiplexing, including:
This up-to-date guide will help you get started with your multiplex experiments and features our latest Applied Biosystems products that are optimized for multiplexing, including QSY and QSY2 probes, MGB probes, TaqPath Duraplex master mix, and calibration plate options.
