Radical and chemical Protein Footprinting is a highly effective technique for characterizing higher order protein structure, including protein-ligand and protein-protein interactions, conformational changes, solvent accessibility, and protein folding. It provides valuable insights into the structural dynamics and functional properties of proteins.
By combining Protein Footprinting methods with analysis using Thermo Scientific mass spectrometers, researchers can investigate protein folding and weak protein–protein interactions and other fast processes for residue-level resolution of protein structures and interactions on the microsecond timescale. Protein Footprinting is complementary to other higher order structure (HOS) techniques.
