The primary cell walls in a 500 nm–thick apple leaf section identified with an antibody to the methyl-esterified regions of pectic polysaccharides or pectin, and visualized with green-fluorescent Alexa Fluor® 488 goat anti–rabbit IgG antibody (Cat. No. A11008). The orange regions inside the cells are due to the autofluorescent properties of chlorophyll localized in the chloroplasts.
