Harness the power of the Thermo Scientific LInspector Edge In-line Mass Profilometer with Thermo Scientific LInspector Edge Pro Software. Developed specifically for battery electrode coating uniformity applications, LInspector Edge Pro Software facilitates the operation, management, and data visualization of coating uniformity inspection. With a user-friendly interface, operators can easily control the analyzer and process data during the electrode coating process.
Software features include, among others:
The human machine interface (HMI) can display multiple types of visualizations representing the mass loading levels of the entire electrode surface. These displays are available in full width panels and half width panels so that multiple visualizations can be viewed at the same time.
High-resolution mass loading profile data allows the operator to use real-time feedback to make process adjustments quickly, thereby improving product uniformity. It also enables the operator to detect and identify defects earlier in the manufacturing process. This results in cost-effective remedial action and ultimately results in greater confidence in the quality, reliability, and performance of batteries.
The heat map, generated in real-time, offers a graphical representation of high-resolution mass loading results for the entire electrode, enabling the operator to quickly identify areas of concern. Key statistics are calculated and displayed for every patch, stripe, or section on continuous coating.
The color scale can be adjusted on the fly, allowing users to highlight features in the electrode coating. The display can be scrolled to an area of interest and zoomed. The system can also display a cross direction (CD) and machine direction (MD) cross-section profile of the crosshair position under the cursor.
CD and MD profiles are available in both full and half width panels. High-resolution CD profiles show the cross-section uniformity of the product. Zone CD profiles are used to adjust slot die actuators, and trend graphs show the changes in average weight over time as well as the highest and lowest points within the profile. The multi-MD profile display can trend multiple fixed points across the web simultaneously to analyze key areas such as stripe or patch edges, and up to 32 MD trends can be displayed simultaneously.
The stripe profile display gives a real-time overview of each stripe as it’s being made. A color-coded profile of each stripe is displayed, clearly showing defective areas of the profile by highlighting the color. Statistics are calculated in real-time and displayed for each stripe including average weight, start and end positions, min and max weights and CD spread. Out-of-specification statistics are highlighted for quick identification to enable faster process control decisions.
