Cell Culture Reagents |
Designed to deliver reproducibility, Gibco cell culture reagents are infused with quality, customer-focused innovation, and service excellence from beginning to end. From the most basic formulations to the newest innovations, Gibco products offer exceptional quality, consistency, and performance—for results that you can count on every day.
Traditional cell dissociation solutions—including trypsin, Versene solution, and collagenase— are widely used for tissues and cell monolayers. Available in a variety of formats, both enzymatic and chemical, to meet the needs of researchers performing adherent cell culture.
Gibco TrypLE reagents are highly purified, recombinant cell-dissociation enzymes that replace porcine trypsin. These reagents are ideal for dissociating attachment-dependent cell lines in both serum-containing and serum-free conditions and can be directly substituted for trypsin without protocol changes.
Freezing down cells protects against unplanned mutations, senescence, and contamination. While unprotected cell freezing is ordinarily lethal, cryopreservation media help ensure long-term cell viability. Protecting against freezing injury, the right cryopreservation reagents secure an intact supply of cells on your schedule.
Each batch of Gibco balanced salt solutions is sample tested for confirmed quality. Balanced salt solutions can provide an environment that maintains the structural and physiological integrity of cells in vitro. Choose from PBS, DPBS, EBSS, and HBSS.
Gibco recombinant proteins have high biological activity so you can get more results with less protein, high purity to minimize interference from proteins or other contaminants, and proven compatibility when bioassayed with Gibco media.
As a universal solvent, water is a major component of mammalian cell culture media. While water is affected by a variety of factors and seasonal changes, our advanced water preparation systems enable you to make cell culture media of the highest quality.
In our system, water for injection (WFI water), is pretreated by multi-filtration to remove large particles. A softening process then replaces heavy metals with sodium. This is followed by carbon filtration, which removes chlorine. Our waters go on to be distilled in a vapor compression sill and filtered through a 0.1 micron membrane.

Distilled water can be used as a solvent when preparing cell culture media and laboratory reagents. Suitable for use in cell culture and molecular biology applications, this water is prepared both by distillation and filtration (0.1 µm) and contains no added substances.
Also for use as cell culture media and lab reagent solvent, water for injection (WFI) is high-quality water available in a variety of sizes. WFI meets USP monograph standards, is distilled and filtered (0.1 µm), and contains no additives. Like our distilled water, WFI is monitored routinely. Monitoring includes daily tests of conductivity, total organic carbon, endotoxin and bioburden and monthly metal testing.
Gibco cell culture products are manufactured in facilities compliant with current good manufacturing practices (GMP) and adhere to a robust quality management system, helping to ensure the consistency, reliability, and high quality you can rely on.
We are committed to delivering products that serve the research needs of our customers, while striving to develop them in a way that minimizes our use of natural resources and our impact on the environment.
