4N6FLOQSwabs are specifically designed for DNA collection and use in forensic applications, such as databasing and sexual assault, as well as paternity testing and evidence collection (including sweat, semen, blood stains, skin, and any traces found at crime scenes). The patented FLOQSwabs are comprised of a solid molded plastic applicator shaft with a tip that can vary in size and shape and is coated with short nylon fibers that are arranged in perpendicular fashion. FLOQSwabs have no internal absorbent core to entrap the specimen like traditional fiber swabs, so the entire sample stays close to the surface for fast and complete elution.
