Vanquish Tandem LC System

The Thermo Scientific Vanquish Tandem LC Systems increase sample throughput for any LC or LC-MS analysis. These systems increase throughput and maximize detector output by using a second pump and intelligent column switching to eliminate the time required for column equilibration in a gradient elution.

Highlights

Increased sample throughput

Eliminates the time required for column reconditioning as well as idle time for your mass spectrometer or LC detector by using a dedicated reconditioning pump and a second column. Users can increase throughput by an average of 40% to improve laboratory output and revenue generation.

Reduced column carryover

During reconditioning, advanced column wash programs can reduce column carryover without sacrificing throughput.

Simplified method setup

Effortlessly convert your original gradient method for the tandem LC workflow with Thermo Scientific Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS) wizards. Simply enter your standard gradient and the CDS automatically calculates all required parameters with compliance-ready data handling, even for LC-MS instruments.

Versatility in analyte detection

A variety of detection options ensure you can collect the most information from your separation. All detector options offer excellent sensitivity, including diode array, fluorescence or label-free detection of non-chromophoric substances via charged aerosol detection.

Easy and reliable tool-free connections

The Vanquish Tandem LC Systems are fitted with Thermo Scientific Viper Fingertight Fittings, which support near-zero dead volume connections and enable sharper peaks and tool-free setup.

CDS software

The Vanquish Tandem LC Systems seamlessly integrate with our Thermo Scientific Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS) software to deliver superior compliance tools, networking capabilities, automation and data processing.

What is tandem LC-MS?

The tandem LC-MS system incorporates a second pump and intelligent column switching to allow you to maximize detector usage and regain the time lost from column reconditioning.

The diagram below illustrates the time required to run the same set of assays on a traditional single-channel HPLC system compared with the tandem LC or LC-MS system, identifying where time savings are achieved.

Compared to single-channel LC, the column reconditioning step in a tandem LC-MS workflow can be performed simultaneously on a separate flow path to save time.
