Steroids

Steroids are a group of cyclical organic compounds which have a core structure of seventeen carbon atoms bonded in four fused rings: three cyclohexane rings and one cyclopentane ring. The importance of steroids is well known since many of them are necessary for life processes, and corticosteroids are used to treat pain conditions—as such, the analysis and laboratory study of these products have great relevance.
