What are HistoTrac services?

We provide an array of services that facilitate the implementation process and help develop your total HistoTrac

Choosing software with specific functionality to meet your laboratory's needs is a major part of implementing new software. Once that choice is made, you may require additional services to build a solution for your needs.

Data conversion

Data conversion services import historical data into Thermo Scientific HistoTrac Software from a legacy system, whether the data source is developed in-house (e.g. Access database, FoxPro database, Paradox database, Excel spreadsheet) or provided by another software vendor.

The process will ensure the continuity of patient care by migrating data from your existing database into HistoTrac. The first conversion is used during installation and training, with a final merge at Go-Live.

The conversion process:

  • You provide database tables
  • Data mapping is completed by our team with your input
  • HistoTrac database, containing legacy data, is installed on your server
  • You complete data validation
  • Current data is used for final conversion at Go-Live

Training and implementation

Our “train the trainer” service for either individuals or groups will shorten the learning curve associated with implementing HistoTrac Software. We offer both web-based and on-site training.

Training consultation services begin with training on the Core Software. Module selection determines the total training requirements.

We facilitate a smooth installation, with in-depth involvement by its software specialists from the time of purchase through Go-Live and beyond.

Training includes:

  • Assistance with the completion of the data dictionaries
  • Training and materials for the Key User and trainers
  • Business process consultation for optimal software utilization

Personalized training service includes:

  • Development of a communication plan to facilitate the installation and implementation process
  • Consultation with your Key User on critical decisions
  • Training of the Key User before installation using our web-based software
  • Review of file formats and specifications for custom software interfaces
  • Data conversion documentation to facilitate validation
  • Delivery of on-going training and consultation throughout installation and post Go-Live

Custom reports and development

Custom development (specialized reports and applications) provides the flexibility to combine your lab's unique functions with HistoTrac's robust software.

Custom reports

Design reports to meet your clients' needs and accreditation requirements. A number of reports are provided with HistoTrac Core Software: some to manage workflow within the lab while others enable reporting patient results to your clients.

Additional report development services are offered for specialized reporting needs.

Custom development

Design custom applications for your specialized functionality while retaining all activities within one software platform. Discuss these needs with your implementation specialist.

Software maintenance

Keep your software up-to-date with an ongoing maintenance agreement. Maintenance includes new releases of software, corrections to any known deficiencies, phone support and technical support related to HistoTrac.
