Vanquish Analytical Purification LC Systems

Central to our Thermo Scientific Vanquish Analytical Purification LC Systems is the fully integrated, high-performance Thermo Scientific Vanquish Fraction Collector (VFC), which allows you to achieve pinpoint purification by fractionation with precision. The Vanquish Analytical Purification LC Systems support a broad range of applications for both upstream (e.g., raw materials and synthetic products) and downstream processes (e.g., protein purification, oligonucleotide synthesis). They match the separation power of the LC systems with compelling fractionation for high-purity and high-yield compound collection. Built with Thermo Scientific Vanquish HPLC and UHPLC system components, they deliver unrivaled performance, robustness, and user-friendliness.

Highlights

Greater precision

Confidently collect fractions with the highest purity. Choose from a variety of options that fit your application needs, including versatile fractionation modes and customizable needle heights to achieve high recovery and low carryover. Deliver the ultimate in precision across your whole analytical workflow.

Higher efficiency

The combined power of having a modern LC system with an integrated fraction collector and automated workflows, like delay volume determination, allows you to optimize the fractionation process. Fast fraction collection valve switching and exactly measured delay volume preserve the separation quality by minimized delay times for the fractionation step after analyte detection.

Flexible applications

The modularity of our Vanquish LC systems makes it easy to build a system to best suit your application requirements. Upgrade a standard HPLC or UHPLC instrument to a Vanquish Analytical Purification LC System by adding an integrated fraction collector that facilitates precise isolation of your peaks of interest at a wide range of flow rates while applying  time- or peak-based fractionation triggers. Choose from a variety of sample containers including vials as well as shallow and deep well plates, to help meet your application requirements.

Optimized for high and low flow rates

Choose an LC system based on your needs. Select the Vanquish Core HPLC System for high flow rates. For low analytical flow rates, and if biocompatibility is a must, choose either the Vanquish Flex or Vanquish Horizon UHPLC System. The optimized delay volumes are essential for transferring the high peak capacity of a UHPLC separation into high-resolution fractionation. Our Vanquish Analytical Purification LC System comes with Thermo Scientific Viper Fingertight Fitting systems, which support near-zero dead volume connections and enable sharper peaks and tool-free setup.

Preserved sample integrity

Our Vanquish Analytical Purification Systems protect the sample integrity through precise control of fractionation needle movement and minimizing contamination through the use of different wash, flush and rinse options. Features like barcode reading and enclosed sample storage under temperature and light controlled conditions preserve the integrity of the fractionated samples until your are ready for the next step.

Superior user experience

The Vanquish Analytical Purification LC System seamlessly integrates with our Thermo Scientific Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS) to deliver superior compliance and data integrity, networking capabilities, automation features like qualification processed, instrument wizards, and fractionation simulation as well as data processing.

What factors drive success in analytical HPLC sample purifications?

  1. Developing separation methods

The first step in analytical HPLC sample purification is to develop a UHPLC or HPLC method capable of separating the analyte of interest from other components in the sample. Choosing the best-suited stationary phase and complementary mobile phase and then running with a low dispersion chromatographic system with appropriate injection volumes are major contributing factors for properly purifying your samples.

  2. Isolating purified products

The next step for successful fractionation is to isolate your compound(s) of interest using automated fraction collection based on either retention time or detector signal (e.g., from UV detector or even a charged aerosol detector or mass spectrometer).

Carefully choosing the fractionation parameters (like delay time) and using wash, rinse, and flush features allow you to obtain the purest fractions with high recovery and low carry-over.

Key success factors for every analytical HPLC sample purification are the fluidic design and flexible control of the fraction collector.

  3. Fraction analysis

Once the fractions are collected, you can analyze the separated and isolated analytes offline for measurement of percent recovery, purity, stability profiling or activity. Other offline techniques include protein characterization with digestion and peptide mapping, or even cryo-electron microscopy.

The Vanquish Analytical Purification LC System enables you to separate, purify and go for the next step in your process.
