For detecting labels at the membrane surface, we offer antibodies that recognize the following labels:

Fluorescent conjugates of several of these anti-dye and anti-hapten antibodies are available; see Anti-Dye and Anti-Hapten Antibodies—Section 7.4 and Anti-fluorophore antibodies and their conjugates—Table 7.8 for complete product information. These antibodies can be used for direct detection of labeled phospholipids via fluorescence quenching ref (or fluorescence enhancement, in the case of the anti-dansyl antibody). When used in conjunction with phospholipids with dye-labeled head groups (Phospholipids with labeled head groups—Table 13.1), they are important tools for:

  • Studies of molecular recognition mechanisms at membrane surfaces ref
  • Lipid diffusion measurements ref
  • Quantitation of lipid internalization by endocytosis ref

In addition to anti-fluorophore antibodies, we offer a selection of streptavidin conjugates (Avidin, Streptavidin, NeutrAvidin and CaptAvidin Biotin-Binding Proteins and Affinity Matrices—Section 7.6, Molecular Probes avidin, streptavidin, NeutrAvidin and CaptAvidin conjugates—Table 7.9) for detecting biotinylated phospholipids.
