Gibco Custom Media FAQs
Customization Options
Almost all Gibco cell culture basal media products can be customized. To check if a particular product can be customized or to customize of non-media Gibco products, such as buffers and growth factors, please contact us.
You can add, remove, and adjust the concentration of formulation components. In addition, you can select from a range of packaging, QC tests, and either cGMP or non-GMP manufacturing options.

Yes. Our Gibco Custom Media Specialists and R&D staff can provide advice related to the addition or elimination of media components. For more comprehensive services, our Services team specializes in media development and optimization.
Ordering and Delivery
The minimum order volume is generally 1 L for non-GMP manufacturing (Gibco Rapid Prototyping) and 10 L for cGMP production, however there may be exceptions. Please contact us with any inquiries.
When you are ready to place your first order, contact a Gibco Custom Media Specialist or your local Thermo Fisher Scientific account manager.

Yes. If you are reordering the same formulation, in the same quantity and packaging, simply use the Quick Order link found at the top of every page of thermofisher.com or visit your Order History page and click on the Reorder box.
Contact your local Thermo Fisher Scientific Account Manager or your Custom Media Specialist for questions related to pricing. Custom price quotes are valid for 90 days, unless stated otherwise.
Manufacturing lead times can vary based on formulation, availability of raw materials, batch size, QC test duration, and overall customer demand. For non-GMP piloting, our lead times are typically 2–4 weeks. For large-scale cGMP products lead times vary, however we aim to keep lead times between 12–16 weeks for most formulations. We monitor lead times closely, and we will provide you with an estimated time frame for delivery when you place an order. You can also discuss delivery requirements with your Gibco Custom Media Specialist or Thermo Fisher Scientific Account Manager.
