If you have a Thermo Scientific 1405 TEOM™, Continuous Ambient Particulate Monitor or 1405-DF TEOM™ Continuous Dichotomous Ambient Air Monitor, it is recommended to service the switching valve every year. Sometimes you need to service the switching valve ahead of schedule if you find a leak in the system caused by the “V” seals being damaged prematurely or if you discover that the motor is not moving the inner block between its 2 positions during the switching process.
The switching valve maintenance is best performed annually at the time of the dryer replacement and cooler cleaning process to minimize downtime and to maximize the performance of a complete maintenance schedule.
See Technical Bulletin for switching valve service instructions on the new valve design.
