We supply solvents, blends, and reagents in grades, sizes, and packaging that best fit your needs.
We offer a range of chromatography solutions for research and development applications in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, environmental analysis, food and beverage testing, forensic toxicology, proteomics, metabolomics, and clinical research.
Our experience in manufacturing, processing, and testing high purity solvents enables us to fully customize solvents to meet your specifications. Our dedicated solvent mixing facilities produce high purity blends, and our long-standing expertise and experience in distillation, processing, testing, and packaging high purity solvents make Thermo Scientific your brand of choice for chromatography lab applications.
Our chromatography solvents are made specifically for HPLC instrumentation. They are prepared by a distillation process to remove volatile impurities that can contaminate the analytical columns and reduce their lifetimes, followed by filtration to achieve maximum purity. These solvents have low UV absorption and low peak interference and are free of particles up to 0.02 micron. Thus, usage of our high purity HPLC solvents extends column lifetime. Our HPLC grade solvents are also designed to significantly reduce detector noise and baseline drifts, thereby enhancing data quality and helping ensure reproducibility.
Quality control laboratories that employ UHPLC-MS systems will find that our ultra-high purity solvents help improve mass spectrometer sensitivity to chromatographic interferences. Developed for mobile phases targeting trace analysis by UHPLC-MS, our ultra-pure solvents provide a very low mass noise level in both positive and negative mode ionization, minimal metal ion content, and very low UHPLC-UV response using photo diode array detection. Acetonitrile, methanol, and water are among the high-purity solvents that are specifically qualified for UHPLC-MS.
Our UHPLC-MS grade solvents are specifically qualified for mass spectrometry instrumentation. These solvents are targeted for trace analysis by UHPLC-MS and designed to maximize the level of UHPLC-MS performance by helping ensure low metal ion adduct formation, reduce column clogging, and improve peak profiles.
Key features and advantages:
The certified performance of our LC-MS solvents offers reliable solutions that will help you meet the stringent purity requirements of LC-MS. From forensic toxicology to environmental analysis to pharmaceutical research, a constant in almost every field is the need for greater productivity, i.e., quantify more samples in less time with greater reliability and confidence, all on ever tighter budgets. For consistent, reproducible performance in the mobile phase of LC-MS, choose LC-MS grade products—solvents, mobile phase blends, reagents, and additives.
Key features and advantages:
Thermo Scientific LC-MS solvents help set the standard of excellence for consistent, reproducible performance in the mobile phase of LC-MS. The components of our high-purity blends for LC-MS include LC-MS modifers, such as formic acid (FA) or trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), to provide ready-to-use aqueous and organic mobile phase blends for LC-MS lab applications. Thus, our blends help meet the stringent purity requirements of LC-MS.
Key features and advantages:
Thermo Scientific specialized solvent blends were developed for use in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry systems, and thus are ideal for cutting-edge research applications in areas such as proteomics, metabolomics, clinical chemistry, and drug discovery.
LC-MS grade reagents are used as ultra-pure additives in the formulation of solvent blends for the mobile phase of LC-MS lab applications. Our mobile phase additives are protease-free and use-tested to ensure suitability for LC-MS.
Key features and advantages:
Thermo Scientific columns and consumables are applicable in a wide range of markets, offering solutions for our pharmaceutical, food and beverage, forensic toxicology, proteomics, clinical, and environmental customers.
The UHPLC (Ultra High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography) pump has become an indispensable instrument to get shorter run times while maintaining chromatography integrity. In addition to low filtration, our solvents display a remarkably high UV transmission rate, making them the ideal solvent for UHPLC applications using UV detection. For those working at high pressure, where high sensitivity and a fast run rate are key to successful analysis, we have raised the bar by providing solvents that are ideally specified for this application.
Key features and advantages:
Achieve maximum performance in routine liquid chromatography with HPLC gradient grade solvents, suitable for the gradient grade pumps needed for both essential and routine analysis. FClearly, for both everyday use and more highly technical applications, these solvents are designed to meet the needs of our end users. Several packaging innovations, such as plastic-coated bottles and 5 L aluminum cans, help maintain our reputation for providing customers with enhanced safety features and flexibility.

Our technical support team can find solutions to fit your specific custom needs:
We can customize solvents to meet specifications for your application. In addition, our dedicated solvent-mixing facilities are available to produce high-quality blends. Solvents are charged by weight through a 0.2-micron filter by an air-driven pump, and/or by nitrogen pressure. Small amounts of solid and liquid additives are added via charge-ports.
All blending and mixing operations are carried out according to written procedures. The mixing vessels are cleaned (CIP) before and after the mixing/blending operation and are left in a dry condition, filled with nitrogen, between operations.
For custom products, a sample will be prepared, and the specification will be finalized before production commences. This specification is formally defined in a document called a “quality schedule,” which includes a full description of the customer’s quality requirements, including packaging and labelling.
On manufacture, the components are charged and blended, and the resulting material is sampled to ensure the product quality. The material is discharged into the final product containers by nitrogen pressure. The final product containers are then re-sampled and subjected to final testing and approval.
The final product can be supplied in packaging from 1L glass bottles to stainless steel containers up to 1000L.
